The Effect of Cats and Dogs on Bird Distribution

Cats and dogs are very common pets in Greece especially cats, commonly allowed to roam freely even become feral. This was thought have detrimental effects on wildlife, birds. I evaluated whether cats affect the distribution of birds north-eastern provinces Athens. Different areas were sampled analyzed determine if with different densities Dogs, showed not impact any bird species apart from Blackbirds which surprisingly positively correlated dogs. On other hand, seem Sardinian warblers blackbirds negatively. Areas more seemed a lower number these two avian species. These findings support that can wild populations owners need be responsible, while it shows no evidence do same. However, this study there enough samples statistically analyze animals all species, also natural habitats than dry Mediterranean bushland few trees such as pine trees, olive deciduous found gardens.
